Girgaum Chowpati

Girgaum Chawpati is small but one of the most famous beaches of Mumbai near Marine Drive. The beach is famous for immersion of large sized and famous Ganesh idols from Girgaum and Lalbaug areas on the last day of elevan days (the last day is called "Anant chaturdashi") Ganesh Chaturthi celebration. On this day, large number of people gather on the beach.

Several stalls vending bhelpuri, panipuri, pav bhaji, ice-cream etc. are found at south corner on the beach.
