The Prince of Wales Museum, now renamed as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, was specially designed by George Wittet in the Indo-Saracenic style to honour the Prince of Wales on his first visit to India who laid the foundation stone in 1905. Its construction completed in the year 1914. Prince of Wales museum is one of the finest buildings and one of the best museums in India. It has three main sections:- Art, Archaeology and Natural History. The museum houses art, sculpture, rare coins, old fire-arms and a priceless collection of miniature paintings. It is surrounded by a beautiful landscape forming an ideal getaway for the people of Mumbai.


Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and Churchgate are the nearby railway stations for reaching the Prince of wales Museum. All the BEST buses plying for Colaba via CST railway station(west) reach you the Museum at the most reasonable fare of Rs. 4/- per adult.
